TMAC Land Management was engaged to undertake blackberry control and serrated tussock control works on a rural property near O'Connell, NSW. The property exhibited extensive infestations of blackberry and serrated tussock across multiple areas, with certain sections presenting challenging access conditions due to the terrain, vegetation density, and property layout. The client required an effective weed management solution capable of addressing both accessible and hard-to-reach infestation areas while supporting broader property improvement objectives. This work was part of an ongoing vegetation management program aimed at reducing weed pressure, enhancing land usability, and promoting the recovery of desirable pasture and native vegetation.

To maximise site coverage and treatment effectiveness for vegetation management, TMAC Land Management utilised both a 600-litre Quikspray spray unit and a 250-litre side-by-side buggy spray system. The larger Quikspray unit allowed efficient treatment of accessible areas and larger infestations, while the buggy spray system provided access to tighter and more challenging sections of the property that could not be efficiently reached using larger equipment. Selective herbicide treatments were applied specifically for blackberry control and serrated tussock control, all while supporting broader land management outcomes across the property. By utilising multiple spray platforms, TMAC Land Management was able to maintain treatment efficiency while achieving comprehensive coverage across varied site conditions.

The completed works significantly reduced established weed infestations, including effective blackberry control and serrated tussock control, across the property. This provided the landowner with a strong foundation for ongoing weed management and pasture improvement.
The ability to access difficult terrain using specialised spray equipment allowed for the treatment of infestation areas that may otherwise have remained unmanaged, thereby improving the overall effectiveness of the vegetation management and weed control program.
The client was highly satisfied with the results of the project and subsequently engaged TMAC Land Management for additional services including rural fencing works and future forestry mulching activities.
This project demonstrates TMAC Land Management's ability to deliver practical vegetation management solutions across challenging rural environments while adapting equipment and treatment methods to suit site-specific conditions and long-term property management objectives.
TMAC Land Management offers comprehensive vegetation management services, including blackberry control, serrated tussock control, rehabilitation, fencing, erosion control, and project support throughout Bathurst, Oberon, Lithgow, Orange, and the broader Central West NSW region.
