Jenolan Caves Blue Lake Desilting Project

TMAC Land Management was engaged to provide site supervision and site dumper operator hire services during the Blue Lake desilting project at Jenolan Caves, NSW. This initiative involved the removal of accumulated sediment from the lake as part of ongoing environmental management and maintenance efforts within the Jenolan Caves precinct. Given the environmental significance and unique nature of the site, the project demanded careful planning, coordination, and execution to achieve the desired outcomes while minimising impacts on the surrounding environment. The works were delivered on behalf of the Soil Conservation Service as part of a broader environmental management program.

TMAC Land Management provided site supervision and site dumper operations throughout the Blue Lake desilting project, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of the desilting works.

A key advantage brought to the project was Director Tom McAlister's extensive site-specific experience. During almost nine years with the Soil Conservation Service, Tom participated in two previous Blue Lake desilting programs and developed a detailed understanding of the site, project requirements, and operational challenges. 

This previous experience assisted with project planning, site management, and efficient delivery of the works while maintaining a strong focus on environmental management and the protection of the surrounding areas, including the nearby Jenolan Caves.

The Blue Lake desilting works were successfully completed, effectively removing accumulated sediment and supporting the ongoing environmental management of the area. 

TMAC Land Management's involvement provided experienced site supervision, practical operational support, and valuable site-specific knowledge developed over multiple desilting programs spanning many years.
